Announcement No.30, 2006 of the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People’s Republic of China, on Notification of Suspending the Import of the Cadbury Chocolate

Notification on Suspending the Import of the Cadbury Chocolate Canadian Cadbury Chocolate’s plastic molds for chocolate eggs recently cracked down and fragments dropped onto the assembly line, with a fragment later causing a customer to suffer mouth injuries. The Canadian Bureau of Quality Supervision and Inspection warned consumers to stay far away from the said chocolate eggs. After investigation, no entry-exit inspection and quarantine organs have accepted import declaration of above product. For purpose of safeguarding health of Chinese citizens, related matters are now announced as follows in accordance with Food Hygiene Law of the People's Republic of China, Law of the People’s Republic of China on Import and Export Commodity Inspection and its implementing measures, Administrative Measures on Risk Early Warning and Quick Response to Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine as well as related laws and regulations: 1. Suspending import of the Cadbury’s chocolate eggs with specification of 39g from now on. All entry-exit inspection and quarantine organs cannot accept declaration of the said products. 2. All entry-exit inspection and quarantine organs should enhance inspection on entry of the articles through mailing and passengers. If encounter any act of breach of regulations, entry-exit inspection and quarantine organs should immediately deal with in accordance with related regulations and report to General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine. 3. Consumers are strongly advised not to take the said chocolate eggs.
